Josefine Johansson Appointed CMO at Cloud Family

Cloud Family is strengthening its marketing efforts with the appointment of Josefine Johansson as Chief Marketing Officer. With proven experience building marketing functions in fast-growing B2B companies, she steps into the role as the company accelerates and aims for a clearer international position.

“What attracted me to Cloud Family was that their solution meets a clear market need. Companies want to lower their AWS costs, yet most don’t even know it’s possible. There is a distinct position to take—and a marketing function to build,” says Josefine.

Cloud Family is a fast-growing, international SaaS company offering a solution that helps businesses reduce their AWS costs without technical changes or long commitments. One customer summed it up as “a no-brainer.”

“It means a lot when customers spontaneously describe the solution as a no-brainer,” Josefine adds.

From her first computer to building marketing functions

Josefine’s drive to create started early. She grew up in rural Småland and remembers clearly walking into an electronics store with a piggy bank full of coins and notes from summer jobs and birthdays to buy her first computer.

It was the mid-2000s, when blogging exploded and foreshadowed today’s influencer culture.

“I began experimenting with blogs, images, video and digital communication long before I knew it could be a career. The curiosity, the desire to understand and the drive to build something have always stayed with me.”

Over the years, that early curiosity developed into a clear professional path. Josefine has a background in B2B marketing, content, lead generation and commercial strategy, with experience from companies such as Simployer and Amido. A common thread in her career is combining strategy with execution—building marketing that creates clarity, trust and growth.

“I thrive where ambitions are high and the path from idea to action is short. For me, marketing is at its best when it clearly communicates value. That’s the kind of marketing function I want to help build at Cloud Family.”

But it’s not just about ambition—people matter too.

“You spend eight hours a day together. It needs to be a place where you enjoy being, where there is energy and engagement.”

A simple solution to an expensive problem

The company’s core offering is straightforward: as an official AWS partner, they help businesses lower their cloud costs without binding contracts and without requiring changes to the customer’s infrastructure.

“There are very few solutions that are this easy to understand and at the same time so powerful. You save money with no downside. That’s why customers call it a ‘no-brainer.’”

The model’s full flexibility—allowing customers to leave at any time—makes the proposition even stronger.

“It says a lot that no customer has chosen to leave since launch.”

The next phase – scaling internationally

As CMO, Josefine will lead the entire marketing function—from strategy and positioning to campaigns, content and lead generation—with a focus on supporting the company’s continued growth.

“My drive is to create communication that actually makes a difference: to help people understand a problem, see the value of the solution and take the next step.”

Next up is taking Cloud Family’s marketing to the next level and supporting the company’s international expansion.

“It feels like Cloud Family is only just beginning to claim its place. The potential is large, both in the Nordics and internationally, and I’m excited to build the marketing that will support that growth.”

About Cloud Family

Cloud Family helps companies reduce their Amazon Web Services (AWS) costs through an ML- and AI-driven platform that optimizes AWS resource usage in real time.

The company’s solution is based on fixed-price commitments that enable resale of AWS services at discounted rates. The platform can also apply the company’s financial fixed-price commitments for AWS EC2, AWS Lambda and AWS Fargate to other organizations in real time to maximize cost efficiency.

Customers using the solution typically save between 10 and 30 percent of their total AWS expenses.

A key advantage of Cloud Family’s offering is that it does not affect customers’ workflows, technology or security. Optimization occurs solely in the billing layer, allowing companies to lower cloud costs without changes to infrastructure or operational environments.
