Welcome Thyrza to the Cloud Family — Multilingual Talent from the Caribbean

She grew up on Curaçao — the small Caribbean island many associate mainly with a colorful liqueur. For Thyrza Kleine, however, it is much more: it is home. A place where four languages are spoken daily and where young people often look to Europe for their future. At 18 she did what many from the island dream of — she moved to the Netherlands to study. There her curiosity about value, impact and meaningful metrics beyond traditional business thinking was sparked. We are delighted to welcome Thyrza to Cloud Family as Sales Manager for the Netherlands!

Fredrik from Hicareer introduced Thyrza to Cloud Family — and when she met the team, everything he had said was confirmed. No games, no pretense. Just calm, open questions and room to be herself.

“I also liked that the company was born from a real problem the founders experienced at Appland. It wasn’t a theoretical idea but a practical solution turned product. That gave the whole thing credibility that only comes from real experience.”

A thesis that sparked curiosity

In the Netherlands Thyrza studied hotel management and worked in roles that required staying calm under pressure — always with a smile. Her thesis became a deep dive into Social Return on Investment for a Melbourne restaurant with a “Pay as you feel” concept. By putting numbers on things that are usually not measured, it changed how she viewed value.

About ten years later she stumbled across the thesis again, and to her surprise it had been read by many and even mentioned in an article she hadn’t seen.

“It reignited a curiosity I had forgotten. I took a chance and landed a job in climate tech at CarbonCloud. That led to two years working with food industry leaders — from farmers to large retailers in Benelux and Spain — where we turned vague sustainability language into scientific figures,” she says.

For her, it has never been about saying the right things but about asking the right questions and being genuinely curious about challenges.

“I’m here to understand what it’s like to be in our customers’ shoes: to ask, listen and help tech professionals see what they didn’t know was possible,” she continues. “We help companies save 10–20% on AWS — without touching their infrastructure and with no lock-in. What makes us unique is the ability to reallocate unused savings in real time.”

She explains that she wants to make technical complexity human, simple and clear enough to understand.

“All it takes is a quick CSV download. No fixed fees, no gimmicks — just instant results. I’m here to make sure more companies know this — starting with my Dutch compatriots.”

No bottlenecks and a culture that encourages growth

Thyrza says the most inspiring part of Cloud Family’s culture is iteration. Markus, Jonatan, Henrik and Daniel have created something uncommon: a place where you test quickly, learn and adjust along the way.

“Ideas don’t get stuck in endless bottlenecks — they move forward. We don’t chase perfection. We build antifragility — resilience bounces back, but antifragility becomes stronger under pressure. At Cloud Family you are expected to speak up and help shape what comes next, even if you’ve just started. That makes it easy for me to come as I am,” she says.

In her third week she challenged herself by signing up for a certification exam that AWS normally recommends six months’ experience for. She plunged into the acronyms to try to understand the whole cloud ecosystem.

“I aimed high and missed by about five to seven points. It was raining, and it happened to be my birthday. There I was, heading back to the office to share the news.”

What could have been a disappointing moment became something else entirely: laughter and cake at the Cloud Family office.

“I felt proud that I had tried. I went back to the whiteboard, iterated, and was reminded of something Markus said when we first met: ‘I want you to fail, and fail fast. Then we adjust and keep failing until we succeed.’ That moment confirmed everything,” she says.

Sales is full of rejection and missed shots — that’s the nature of the game. Thyrza says the energy at Cloud Family means you don’t have to wait until you feel ready. You can simply go for it — without hesitation.

She believes Cloud Family will become the quiet standard of the future: the trusted choice when reliability and simplicity matter.

“We have had zero customer churn in 2.5 years — that says a lot and makes spreading the word easy. I’m proud they trust me to take what works in the Nordics and scale it globally,” she says.

“Honestly — what I’m most excited about is not having to think too far ahead. Right now I’m simply happy to be here. Sitting in my office in Brunnsparken in Gothenburg, watching the seagulls, trams, boats and people pass by… and wondering: how did I end up here — someone from a small island, with a surname that literally means ‘small’ — getting to talk to tech experts around the world?”

Besides talking about smart tech solutions, Thyrza loves cooking for people as much as she loves making them laugh (she refers to her favorite laugh as “slappe lach,” which roughly translates to “weak laugh”).

Tennis is her favorite sport and lakes still feel exotic to her. She enjoys hunting for hidden treasures in second-hand shops and has a fondness for rapping complex verses;

“Kendrick’s DNA and A Tribe Called Quest’s Can I Kick It? are favorites. Karaoke is dead serious. And yes, that’s a hint to my new colleagues for the next after-work!” Thyrza concludes.

We are very happy and excited to have Thyrza Kleine on the team and look forward to what she will contribute to Cloud Family’s growth!
