Important Looking Pirates Stay With Colocation at GlobalConnect’s Data Center

Leading visual effects studio Important Looking Pirates (ILP) has renewed and expanded its colocation agreement with GlobalConnect, placing ILP’s own IT equipment in GlobalConnect’s data centers. Facing continuous growth and rising demands for reliable, sustainable IT operations, ILP has chosen to secure its digital infrastructure with a Nordic provider that offers local presence and long-term capacity to meet future digital needs.

ILP has been a GlobalConnect customer since 2013. The new five-year agreement builds on the long-standing partnership and includes more than double the data center capacity as the company’s technical requirements continue to increase.

“Our business requires high performance, round-the-clock availability and confidence across every part of our digital infrastructure. GlobalConnect provides not only technical capacity but also a local, dependable partnership that aligns with our values around security and sustainability,” says Christoffer Bing, Head of IT at Important Looking Pirates.

GlobalConnect is currently expanding its data center capacity across the Nordics to meet rapidly growing demand driven by technologies such as AI, cloud services, streaming and edge computing, and by an increased need for data sovereignty in a changing geopolitical landscape. At the same time, requirements for secure, local data storage are becoming more stringent.

“We see a growing need for secure, robust and locally anchored options to handle business-critical data. With our colocation capacity and strong Nordic footprint, we enable companies like Important Looking Pirates to grow with high availability, security and control,” says Anna Granö, EVP B2B at GlobalConnect.

The renewed agreement represents ILP’s continued commitment to GlobalConnect as a provider of data center capacity. The collaboration, which began in 2013, now covers a significantly expanded power allocation and runs for five years. Under the agreement, ILP secures access to a scalable and secure infrastructure designed to meet future requirements.
