STOCKHOLM, 5 February 2026 – CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), one of the world’s largest independent IT and business consulting firms, is deepening its collaboration with the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket) through a multi-year framework agreement that strengthens the agency’s digital development and AI initiatives. The agreement covers IT consulting services in system development, application management and digital transformation.
CGI and the Swedish Board of Agriculture have collaborated closely for several years to modernize the agency’s digital services. By developing new e-services and digital forms, CGI has helped accelerate case processing and improved the user experience for both staff and farmers.

”CGI’s priority is to deliver digital transformation that provides concrete operational benefits and directly supports the Swedish Board of Agriculture’s mission and day-to-day work. By modernizing core systems, introducing secure AI capabilities and strengthening governance, we help streamline processes, improve decision-making and enhance services for both farmers and agency staff. This framework agreement deepens a partnership built on trust, measurable results and long-term value for the public sector,” says Anders Chrintz, Senior Vice President West & South at CGI.
A central element of the expanded cooperation is the Swedish Board of Agriculture’s growing AI work. The agency has established an AI lab where CGI contributes expertise primarily in AI governance, ethics and regulatory compliance — areas of increasing importance as the EU AI Act is implemented. The AI lab serves as an engine for innovation and for developing methods, guidelines and solutions that integrate AI safely and responsibly into the organization.
This work has produced an internal AI assistant named Ragnar, which runs entirely on the agency’s own servers. The on-premises setup enables handling of sensitive information under full agency control and can be tailored to specific needs because it is built on open source foundations.
”The AI lab is a vital part of our journey to become a data-driven agency. We want to use AI to free up time, make better decisions and strengthen our preparedness. By building internal capabilities and working with trusted partners like CGI, we create the conditions for secure and sustainable AI use across the organization,” says Anna Miller, AI strategist and head of the AI lab at the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
CGI’s AI capabilities in the public sector have been recognized internationally by analyst firm IDC MarketScape, which named CGI a Leader in the Worldwide AI Services for State and Local Government 2025 report. In Sweden, CGI employs more than 1,500 people working with the public sector and acts as a full-service partner in the transition to a modern, digitalized public administration. CGI supports agencies across the value chain — from needs analysis and strategy to implementation and long-term management.
